W.R. Dunkin & Son, Inc. was founded in 1915 in Carroll County, Indiana by W.R. Dunkin — a carpenter — and his son Glenn F. Dunkin — a brick mason. What began as residential and small commercial contracting grew over decades into one of Indiana's most respected institutional construction firms.
The company settled in Anderson in 1951 to be more centrally located across the state. Today, Craig R. Dunkin — fourth generation — leads the company with the same commitment to craftsmanship, relationships, and community that his great-grandfather brought to every job site.
In March 2020, W.R. Dunkin & Son was welcomed into the Abel Family of Businesses — a $160 million, four-generation construction company that shares its values — strengthening Dunkin's capacity and resources while preserving its local identity and leadership.
